This charter sets out the standards for home care that will apply for services provided by Merseycare Julie Ann Limited.

Home Care is the provision of personal care and support tasks which help an individual to live in his or her own home and support relatives or friends who normally provide that care.

Service Values and Principles

The company considers the following values and principles are fundamental to the delivery of good quality and reliable home care services.

• Dignity and Independence - services will be aimed at enhancing the quality of people’s lives, so that they can live as independently as possible with as little intervention as possible.
   
• Participation - it is our aim to listen to what people ask for and to try to meet those requests by offering a choice wherever possible of services sensitive to the needs and wishes of the people who use them, and of their carers.
   
• Valuing People - we believe that the quality of home care services is heavily influenced by the many staff who provide them. We believe that it is essential to recognise the right to dignity, self-esteem, safety, health and welfare of our service users and all those engaged to work with them.
   
• Equality and Rights - services will be sensitive to the needs and wishes of individual services users and will take into account a person’s disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, culture, race, language or religion. The Company is committed to equal opportunities for staff as well as for service users.
   
• Information - information will be made available to service users and their families about the services, which may be provided.
   
• Working Together - the Company is committed to working together with the commissioners of servics, relatives, carers and staff from other Contractors in order to deliver services more effectively and sensitively to service users. We openly encourage users and their families to comment on the service provided.

Charter Guarantees

Home Care services delivered by Merseycare Julie Ann Limited will be provided in accordance with the charter guarantees set out below:  

• Reliability: Care will be provided at the approximate time agreed and the care worker will undertake the agreed identified tasks.
   
• Safety and Security: All home care workers will be subject to reference checks, including Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), and all staff will carry clear identification.
   
• Confidentiality: Home care workers will always respect your privacy and right to confidentiality.
